Decision details
Andrew Christian Harris, who is not a solicitor, was employed by Slater and Gordon UK Limited (the firm) whose head office is at First Floor Lee House, 90 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester, M1 5JW between and 30 November 2020 and 9 September 2022.
The firm is a licensed body.
Mr Harris was made subject to a disqualification order under section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007. The SRA has disqualified Mr Harris from holding any of the following roles in law firms regulated by the SRA:
- Head of Legal Practice
- Head of Finance and Administration
- A manager
- An employee
Reasons/basis
Mr Harris was employed at the firm as a Team Leader in its Fast Track Personal Injury department.
It was found that on 22 August 2022 whilst attending a work training session delivered online and hosted by external counsel, Mr Harris indecently exposed himself on camera revealing his genitals to external counsel and colleagues.
Our decision on sanction
Mr Harris' conduct breached relevant duties that applied to him as an employee of the firm, namely, SRA Principles 2 and 5 (2019).
It was found that it would be undesirable for Mr Harris to act as a Head of Legal Practice, Head of Finance and Administration, a manager or an employee of a body licensed in accordance with section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007.
Mr Harris was disqualified from holding any of these roles. He was also directed to pay costs of £600.
